Sri Lanka Participates in the 'Salon Mondial du Tourism' in Paris

For the first time, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Sri Lanka Embassy in France jointly organized the Sri Lanka’s participation at the 43rd Edition of the “Salon Mondial du Tourism”,  which was held from 15th to 18th March 2018 in Paris, France along with 10 Sri Lankan travel agencies. 

This exhibition organized jointly with “Destination Nature” gives industry professionals unique visibility to the general public. The fair is the best source of travel inspiration to discover new horizons and a new way of conceiving travel abroad. With more than 300 destinations presented in an area of 17,000 m², tourist offices, tour operators, travel agencies, accommodation sites, bloggers etc. This year edition attracted around 100 000 visitors during 4 days and 570 exhibitors.

The Salon Mondial du Tourism was inaugurated by Mrs. Geneviève Darrieussecq, Mayor of Mont-de-Marsan and Secretary of State to Mrs. Florence PARLY, Minister of the Armed Forces.  She visited the Sri Lanka booth and she had an opportunity to see Sri Lankan traditional dance and to get information about Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka pavilion ceremonially opened by H.E Mr. B K Athauda Ambassador of Sri Lanka,  Ms. Audrey Quentin of Comexposium,  Ms. Sarangi Thilakasena, Assistant Director of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau along with other diplomatic officials of the Embassy. 

Sri Lankan traditional dancing performance as well as traditional food and the Ceylon Tea counter at Sri Lanka pavilion attracted a large number of visitors. 

Sri Lankan travel and tour companies such as Airwing Tours, Blackpool Holdings, Chamathka Holidays, World Lanka Tours, Yatrah Travels, Zenith Expeditions, Ayubwan Tours , Bernard Tours, Asian Escape, and Travel Talk Asia had the opportunity to meet French public interesting to travel in Sri Lanka exposing different activities and tours.
