Extension of Validity of Passport

 

Sri Lankan Passports are issued for a period of 10 years. Passports issued with five (05) years validity can be renewed up to a period of 10 years from the date of the first issue.

Validity of a passport which is over ten years from the date of issue cannot be further extended and the holder of such passport is expected to apply for a new passport.

Extension of validity of passports can be done on the same day, upon submission of the documents to the Embassy by the applicant.

1)    Current Passport
2)    Duly filled Form ‘O'
3)    Valid original Resident Permit
4)    Sri Lankan National Identity Card
5)    Relevant fee
