The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Paris celebrated the first working day of the 2022 New Year.
The ceremony was held at 9.00 am at the Embassy premises with the participation of the Ambassador, Diplomats and the Embassy staff, adhering to the French health guidelines.
Marking the commencement of the ceremony, Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama, the Ambassador & Permanent Delegate of Sri Lanka to UNESCO hoisted the National Flag.
National Anthem was sung by the staff followed by a two minutes' silence, commemorating the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
The Oath/Affirmation of the Public Service was taken in all three languages, Sinhala, Tamil & English.
Thereafter, the Ambassador addressed the Embassy staff, thanking for their invaluable services and to continue with the same spirit in the year 2022 based on the action plan for year 2022 prepared according to HE the President’s Vision of Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor.
First Secretary of the Mission Lt Colonel Chula Ratnayake addressed the gathering in Tamil Language, with new year greetings and HE Presidents Vision.
The event was concluded having Kiribath with Sri Lankan sweet meats.
