Ambassador Manisha Gunasekera had a farewell meeting with Senator Hon. Vanina Paoli-Gagin, President of the France - Sri Lanka Friendship Group in the French Senate, on Tuesday 27 January. The Ambassador extended her sincere thanks to Senator Paoli-Gagin for her strong cooperation, collaboration and interest in further consolidating France - Sri Lanka relations during in the past two years. The Ambassador also conveyed Sri Lanka’s deep appreciation, through the Senator, to the membership of the France - Sri Lanka Friendship Group, for their interest and support in deepening the bilateral partnership. Senator reciprocated the sentiments. The discussion also focussed on further strengthening France-Sri Lanka bilateral relations, and collaboration between the Friendship Groups of the French Senate and the Sri Lanka Parliament in the year 2026 and beyond.

Réunion d’adieu entre l’Ambassadrice Manisha Gunasekera et la Sénatrice Vanina Paoli-Gagin
L’Ambassadrice Manisha Gunasekera a eu une réunion d’adieu avec la Sénatrice Mme. Vanina Paoli-Gagin, Présidente du Groupe d’Amitié France -Sri Lanka au Sénat français, le mardi 27 janvier. L’Ambassadrice a exprimé ses sincères remerciements à la Sénatrice Paoli-Gagin pour sa coopération et son engagement constants, ainsi que pour son intérêt à consolider davantage les relations France-Sri Lanka au cours des deux dernières années.
L’Ambassadrice a également transmis, par l’intermédiaire de la Sénatrice, l’appréciation profonde du Sri Lanka à l’ensemble des membres du Groupe d’Amitié France-Sri Lanka pour leur intérêt et leur soutien au renforcement du partenariat bilatéral. La Sénatrice a réciproqué ces sentiments.
L'échange a également porté sur le renforcement futur des relations bilatérales entre la France et le Sri Lanka, ainsi que sur la collaboration entre les Groupes d’Amitié du Sénat français et du Parlement sri-lankais en 2026 et au-delà.
