On Wednesday, 08 April 2026, Chargée d’Affaires a.i. Sanju Dasanayake met with Senator Hon. Vanina Paoli-Gagin, President of the France - Sri Lanka Friendship Group in the French Senate, to discuss the further consolidation of bilateral relations.

The discussion centered on enhancing cooperation in various fields including political, economic, and educational sectors, while also emphasizing the importance of deepening people-to-people contacts. Expressing her sincere gratitude for the Senator’s steadfast support and commitment to the enhancement of bilateral relations, the Chargée d’Affaires a.i. noted the significance of the upcoming visit to Sri Lanka by a four-member delegation led by Senator Hon. Paoli-Gagin later this month.
