Mme Manisha Gunasekera est l'Ambassadrice du Sri Lanka en France (avec accréditation simultanée en Espagne, au Portugal et dans les principautés de Monaco et d’Andorre), et la Déléguée Permanente du Sri Lanka auprès de l'UNESCO. Elle a précédemment assumé les fonctions de Secrétaire adjointe aux affaires bilatérales (OUSET) au Ministère des Affaires étrangères du Sri Lanka, de Haut-commissaire du Sri Lanka au Royaume-Uni et d’Ambassadrice du Sri Lanka en République de Corée.
Mme Gunasekera a également été représentante permanente adjointe de la mission permanente du Sri Lanka auprès des Nations unies à Genève, Directrice Générale pour l'Europe, l'Asie centrale, l'UE et le Commonwealth, Directrice Générale pour l'Asie de l'Est et le Pacifique du Ministère des Affaires étrangères du Sri Lanka et Directrice Générale de la coordination des donateurs au Ministère du développement économique du Sri Lanka.
Forte d’une carrière diplomatique de 27 années, Mme Gunasekera a rejoint le service des affaires étrangères du Sri Lanka en 1996.
Mme Gunasekera est titulaire d'une licence (spécialisée) en littérature anglaise de l'Université de Delhi, d'un master en économie politique et développement internationale de l'Institut d'Études Sociales (ISS) de La Haye (Université Erasme de Rotterdam), d'un master de l'Université de Colombo et d'un diplôme de troisième cycle en études européennes de l'Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). Elle a également suivi un programme de spécialisation en diplomatie multilatérale à l'Institut Universitaire de Hautes Études Internationales (HEI) de Genève.

Ms. Manisha Gunasekera is the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to France (with concurrent accreditation to Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Monaco), and the Permanent Delegate of Sri Lanka to UNESCO. She has previously served as the Additional Secretary/ Bilateral Affairs (West) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, as the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom, and as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Korea.
Ms. Gunasekera has also served as the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in Geneva; as the Director General/ Europe, Central Asia, EU & Commonwealth, and as the Director General/ East Asia and Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka; and as the Director General/ Donor Coordination of the Ministry of Economic Development of Sri Lanka.
Ms. Gunasekera has 27 years of service as a diplomat, having joined the Sri Lanka Foreign Service in 1996.
Ms. Gunasekera has a B.A. (Hons.) English from the University of Delhi; an M.A. in International Political Economy and Development from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in the Hague (Erasmus University, Rotterdam); an M.A. from the University of Colombo; and a Postgraduate Diploma in European Studies from the L' Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). She has also followed a Specialisation Programme in Multilateral Diplomacy from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (HEI), Geneva.
