Sri Lanka Embassy in Paris Conducts Mobile Consular Service in the South of France



 

The staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Paris conducted a Mobile Consular Service on Sunday 23 June 2024 in the South of France for the benefit of the Sri Lankan community living in the region.

The mobile service enabled the significant Sri Lankans community residing in Nice, Cannes and Monaco and the surrounding areas to avail themselves of the consular services extended by the Embassy without having to travel the distance to Paris. The general consular services extended comprised the renewal of passports, attestation and legalisation of documents, issuance of power of attorney documents, the registration of births, and the provision of consular information.

During the visit, the Embassy team led by the Counsellor and other diplomatic and consular staff also carried out a series of discussions with the Sri Lankan community in the South of France, including community leaders, professionals, members of associations as well as business leaders, and discussed issues of relevance and shared interest, as well as ways of means of further strengthening relations with the community in the region towards mutual benefit.

The Embassy team also called upon the Chief Incumbent of the Nice Buddhist Vihara The Venerable Mapalagama Jinananda Thero and extended their deep appreciation for the support extended towards this initiative. They also extended their sincere thanks to those community leaders and organizations in Nice that extended their generous support towards the conduct of the mobile consular service.
