The bilateral meeting held between 
 President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and 
President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the #AIImpactSummit in New Delhi yesterday (19 February 2026), is another milestone in the #SriLanka -#France partnership.
The ties between the two countries have broadened and deepened in the past several years due to synergies in the Indian Ocean, and cooperation in climate and maritime domains. SriLanka’s proximity to and strong connectivity with #India provides greater opportunity for the island nation to further collaborate with France on digital infrastructure and innovation.
The AI Impact Summit 2026, hosted by India in New Delhi on 16-19 February, brought together heads of state and government, global tech leaders and policymakers, to discuss collective and responsible governance of AI. Â cooperation.

La réunion bilatérale tenue entre le président Anura Kumara Dissanayake et le président Emmanuel Macron, en marge du #AIImpactSummit à New Delhi hier (19 février 2026), constitue une nouvelle étape marquante du partenariat #SriLanka–#France.
Les relations entre les deux pays se sont élargies et approfondies au cours des dernières années, portées par des synergies dans l’océan Indien ainsi que par une coopération accrue dans les domaines climatique et maritime. La proximité du Sri Lanka avec l’#Inde, ainsi que sa forte connectivité avec celle-ci, offrent à l’île de nouvelles opportunités pour renforcer sa collaboration avec la France dans les domaines des infrastructures numériques et de l’innovation.
Le AI Impact Summit 2026, organisé par l’Inde à New Delhi du 16 au 19 février, a réuni des chefs d’État et de gouvernement, des dirigeants mondiaux du secteur technologique ainsi que des décideurs politiques, afin de discuter d’une gouvernance collective et responsable de l’intelligence artificielle.
