Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations in Paris
Sinhala & Tamil New Year was celebrated at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Paris on 19 April 2021.
The celebrations were held under the patronage of Sri Lanka's Ambassador to France Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama. Speaking at the event the Ambassador highlighted the importance of events of this nature, where peace & harmony is given priority together with forgiveness.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, The Kiribath, kevum having a table filled with traditional Sri Lankan food was brought by all staff members and ate togehter symbolizing unity, peace and harmony.
